Ways to Help or Receive Help in Ouray County During the Pandemic:
The Ouray County COVID-19 Response Fund, hosted by the Telluride Foundation, has been set up specifically to support individuals residing in Ouray County who have been economically impacted by COVID-19. Donations to this fund are being matched dollar for dollar (up to $200,000) through the generosity of a donor who resides in Ouray County. The fund is an emergency hardship assistance program available to help community members who may have short-term emergency financial needs due to illness, health care costs, lack of work, or having to care for children or family members. Ouray County Food Pantry: Open every Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Food donations can be dropped off during those hours. Anyone wanting to donate money can do so on the food pantry’s website or send a check to PO Box 903, Ridgway. For more information call 970-626-4273 or 970-626-5872. The O.C. Food Pantry is located at 103 Highway 62 in Ridgway next to the Shell Station.
Voyager Youth Program has created a fund to support families affected by the COVID19 virus. Voyager is coordinating with agencies across the county to ensure that these funds are distributed efficiently and equitably. Donations can be made directly on the Voyager website, and 100% of the funds will 1) be tax deductible and 2) assist Ouray County families/community members in need. Details Here.
Telluride Regional Loan Fund has designated money to help small businesses with cash flow needs in response to COVID-19. Businesses in Ouray County that are between one and five years old and have been negatively affected by COVID-19 are eligible for the low-interest loans. RIDGWAY LOCATION FOR PLASTIC FILM UPCYCLING - Carry On!
Drop off small quantities of plastic film (grocery bag volume) in the lobby at Ridgway Alpine Bank during business hours. See attached flyer to see what qualifies as plastic film. Carry On! offers monthly Ridgway business pick up. Individuals who have large amounts of plastic film might want to work with a Ridgway business.
