ROCC Alerts and ROCC Announcements:

ROCC Alerts:

We encourage all ROCC members to join us for our Annual Meeting, Saturday, December 5, 7 p.m.  Of course we can't convene in person for our usual potluck feast this year.  At least you can join us from the comfort of your own homes via Zoom.  Pants are optional!  The Zoom meeting link is below.

The newly revised meeting agenda (attached below) includes some important actions including a vote on amendments to ROCC's Bylaws regarding the election of officers and directors.  The ROCC Board believes these changes would create more continuity and shared leadership within the organization (see attached newly revised redline draft of the proposed Bylaws' amendments and clean copy of proposed Bylaws).  Please read these Bylaws changes before the meeting, as this will speed up our discussion of the Bylaws changes at the meeting.

Attached below are the minutes from ROCC’s March and August meetings, which need approval at the meeting.  Please read these minutes before the meeting, as this will also help speed up this meeting.

The event also will include a report on the status of the CORE Act, Colorado's expansive public lands bill, by Robyn Cascade, leader of our area's Great Old Broads chapter.  Listen in if you care about protecting our wilderness and public recreation areas and wonder how close this bill is to becoming law.

New business will include an important open conversation about the future of ROCC.  What issues should ROCC prioritize and how can we increase our impact as a grassroots community organization?  This is your chance, as a member, to help determine ROCC's direction for the coming years.

The agenda also includes the election of Directors and Officers.  The Nominations Committee has nominated the following ROCC members for leadership positions:

One year term:

Co-President - Kate Kellogg
Treasurer - Scott Williams
ROCC Representative to the Western Colorado Alliance Board of Directors - Al Lowande
Director at Large - Anthony Gegauff
Director-at-Large - still needs to be filled

Two year term:

Co-President - Vicki Warner Huggins
Communications Coordinator - Austin Ray
Secretary - still  needs to be filled
Alternate ROCC Representative to the Western Colorado Alliance Board of Directors - position still needs to be filled
Directors-at-Large - Rein Van West
                               Tom Heffernan

If anyone is interested in running for the positions that still need to be filled please email Roze and Al at evanslowande@gmail.com or Dudley Case at md_case@mac.com.

Please join us for ROCC’s Annual Zoom meeting on December 5th at 7:00 p.m. (Mountain Time Zone)

ROCC Announcements:

Hello Out There in Virtual Land....Another Zoom meeting coming your way courtesy of the ROCC Clean Energy Committee on Thursday, December 10, 9am! Exciting, huh?!

Without calling the kettle ‘black’, there obviously have been a number of key developments in our energy orbit both on the county level and the larger picture and it was thought to be a good time to share and catch up.

Likely there will be more to share than time permits within our normal 2-hour framework 🤓 - if anything, Zooming can be a bit more taxing than an in-person meeting so a shorter meeting could be more rewarding this first go-around knowing there will be time after the New Year, too. An agenda will be sent out by early next week based on respondents’ time needs.

We look forward to seeing and hearing the ‘clean energy team’ again after this long hiatus. Stay safe and think snow! rein and dave
